FROM MONTREUX Return rail Montreux to Broc. Entrance to Maison Cailler in Broc & Chocolate Workshop*

There is hardly a more fitting place to delve into the world of chocolate than at the oldest chocolate manufacturer in Switzerland, La Maison Cailler Chocolaterie. The exhibition shows visitors the origin of chocolate from Mexico and its journey to Europe. Eventually, chocolate made its way to Switzerland and today, it’s the country’s most successful export product and more chocolate is eaten per capita than anywhere else in the world.

The milk is sourced from the farmers in the region and that the cocoa beans are imported in huge sacks from Ghana and Venezuela. Here you can watch the different stages in the production process. When the mouth-watering journey is over, you can follow the aroma of freshly made chocolate to the adjoining degustation area and store, where a massive selection of chocolate products awaits.
The Matterhorn Glacier Paradise can be reached from Zermatt in a journey time of around 40 minutes, including changes. Here you can find the return ticket to the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise. At an airy 3’883 metres of altitude, you will find Europe’s highest mountain station. Want to go higher still? The summit lift will bring you to the viewing platform with a 360º panoramic view that includes 38 Alpine giants. A visit to the world’s highest glacier palace will make the excursion an experience you will never forget. Travel in one of the Matterhorn Glacier Ride’s brand-new Crystal Ride cabins for a special thrill.
