    Itinerary

    Day 1 Arrive in Zürich, Switzerland

    A quick train journey takes you from Zürich to Lucerne. Board the Luzern-Interlaken Express for a journey along the shores of clear lakes, past waterfalls and over the breathtaking Brünig Pass to Interlaken, overlooked by the magnificent trio, the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau.

    Day 2Jungfraujoch

    After breakfast, take a trip to the world famous Jungfraujoch – Top of Europe awaits this morning! Experience the views from Europe’s highest railway station, heading up to gaze over the Aletsch Glacier at over 3,454m above sea level. Overnight in Interlaken. (B)

    Day 3Interlaken

    Enjoy a relaxing cruise on board a paddle steamer around Lake Thun and/or Lake Brienz. Overnight in Interlaken. (B)

    Day 4Interlaken - Montreux

    After breakfast board the Golden Pass train from Interlaken in the panoramic carriage as it sweeps through the many vineyards and country estates on its way to Montreux. Enjoy the sweeping views over Lake Geneva. Overnight in Montreux. (B)

    Day 5Montreux

    Visit the UNESCO vineyards of Lavaux and sample some of the delicacies of the region. After a short train journey from Montreux to Rivaz and a short walk up to the ‘Vinorama’, your Swiss wine experience begins with a short film about the region followed by a wine tasting.

    Day 6Montreux - Zermatt

    Breakfast at your hotel. Morning at leisure. Take some time to stroll along the lakeside in Montreux or visit the famous Château de Chillon. Early afternoon continue by train to Zermatt. Overnight in Zermatt. (B)

    Day 7Zermatt

    The Gornergrat Bahn, Europe’s highest open-air, cogwheel-railway, takes you up to the Gornergrat. On the Gornergrat viewing platform you are surrounded by 29 peaks rising to above 4,000m. Overnight in Zermatt. (B)

    Day 8Glacier Express

    Glacier Express

    Enjoy the legendary Glacier Express experience in full from Zermatt to St. Moritz, a thrilling journey in a panoramic carriage taking in some of the most dramatic scenery Switzerland has to offer. The exhilarating journey takes you along the deep Rhone valley, over the dramatic Oberalp Pass and through the Rhine Gorge to glamorous St. Moritz in the afternoon.

    Day 9St. Moritz

    Day at leisure. The St. Moritz transport card offers you unlimited travel on the public network and on most of the mountain railways or cable car. Corviglia, Corvatsch or Diavolezza are only some of the options or maybe you prefer the philosopher’s walk on top of Muottas Muragl. Overnight in St. Moritz. (B)

    Day 10Bernina Express

    Today board the Bernina Express and journey to the Mediterranean climes of Lugano. Travel over circular viaducts and through winding tunnels passing through Brusio and Poschiavo. At Tirano, change to the Bernina Express bus takes you through Italy along the lakes back to Switzerland and Lugano. Overnight in Lugano. (B)

    Day 11Lugano

    Why not visit Monte San Salvatore today – Lugano’s house mountain? A funicular railway takes you from Lugano-Paradiso to the top of this famous peak for magnificent 360° panoramic views over the beautiful blue lake.

    Day 12Lugano - Lucerne

    Travel on the Gotthard Express from the Mediterranean south to the traditional heart of Switzerland. The Gotthard route is truly mesmerising, and the lake cruise from Flüelen to Lucerne on an old paddle steamer tops off your rail adventure. Evening at leisure.

    Day 13Lucerne

    Why not explore the Old Town and walk across the iconic Chapel Bridge or enjoy the views from Mount Rigi – Queen of the Mountains via boat and rail.
