Travel by train in 1st class from Swiss border or airport rail station to Interlaken. Overnight in Interlaken.
After breakfast, travel independently by train to the Kleine Scheidegg for views of the North Wall of the Eiger. Continue on the Jungfrau Railway to the Jungfraujoch, at 3,454m, for views of the Aletsch Glacier. Return by train to Interlaken. Overnight in Interlaken. (B)
Rail journey to Lucerne over the Brünig Pass.

The journey from Interlaken to Lucerne takes you over the historic Brünig Pass, where cogwheel sections help the train climb through alpine meadows, forests, and tumbling waterfalls. At the summit, breathtaking views unfold before a gentle descent past sparkling lakes Lungern and Sarnen, framed by dramatic peaks and charming villages. Take a cruise on Lake Lucerne to Alpnachstad, then board the world’s steepest cogwheel railway to the summit of Mt Pilatus, at 2,132m, for breath-taking views of the surrounding peaks (approx. May/Jun – Nov)! During winter take the bus from Lucerne to Kriens and further with a panoramic gondola from Kriens to Pilatus. Overnight in Lucerne. (B)
